Our client is a biotechnology company creating a new class of targeted gene therapies for debilitating and life-threatening genetic disorders in both central nervous system (CNS) and non-CNS indications.

Title: Research Associate, Tissue Culture

Location: Los Angeles County, CA

Pay: $26-35/hr

5-month contract to potential hire

Responsibilities

• Operation of antibody-based immunogenicity assays (neutralizing antibody assay and total binding antibody assay)

• Operation of additional immune and in vitro assays (e.g., ELISpot, ELISA, CH50)

• Tissue Culture work: maintenance of in vitro and ex vivo (primary) cell culture

Requirements

• B.S. degree in biology, immunology, or a related scientific discipline with 1 or more years of academic or industry experience.

• Experience with a combination of tissue culture work and one or more technologies described above. Candidates with experience in immunological assay execution are preferred.

• Consistently running properly controlled assays demonstrating high reproducibility

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Collaborative mindset and a willingness to work in a team environment.

• Thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced research environment.

• Adherence to thorough documentation of experimental protocols and results

• A flexible schedule that will be amenable to work on weekends and evenings as needed to achieve business directed goals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with running immunological assay, or AAV gene therapy.

• Experience with sterile tissue culture.

• Experience with molecular biology-based assays.
