Job Description
Position Summary
Brookfield Properties has an immediate need for a Risk Management & Claims Analyst at the corporate office in Chicago, IL.

Our teams operate an iconic portfolio of irreplaceable properties within the world's most dynamic markets. As one of the largest real estate services companies, we provide management and development expertise exclusively for properties owned by Brookfield Asset Management.
Our retail group operates destination, standalone retail real estate globally, including over 150 malls in the United States. Our regional shopping centers create a sense of place in the heart of the communities in which we do business: offering retail, lifestyle, dining and entertainment options. In addition, this role will assist with general liability and auto claims for other Brookfield Properties sectors including Office, Multifamily, Hospitality and Logistics.
Responsibilities
Monitor status of claims and update litigation database and electronic files
Gather information needed to defend litigation
Assist with written discovery responses
Respond to routine subpoenas
Coordinate information collection between outside counsel and field personnel
Manage legal hold process for insured claims
Prepare reports and statuses as requested
Additional projects and duties as assigned
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications
Must have a bachelor's degree; Paralegal Certificate or paralegal courses are a plus
1-2 years' experience
Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and document management systems
Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical
Clear and effective communication skills both orally and in writing
Must be able to multitask and successfully manage a variety of demands daily
Must be able to work independently and be proactive
