    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide management oversight of the Axiom Space Risk Management program

    • Identify risks associated with human space flight programs and their impacts to meeting mission objectives

    • Develop plans/strategies and controls/mitigations for identified risks

    • Perform Risk Management program data analytics and trend analysis

    • Analyze risk trends and choose the most effective strategies for communicating those trends to various stakeholders and business leaders

    • Use of risk trending data to highlight problem areas

    • Provide recommendations for effective implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management Plan and associated Risk Management training program

    • Conduct Risk Management Reviews/ Working Groups to facilitate risk management awareness communication among stakeholders and risk owners

    • Monitor and track overall program risk activities to include capturing details, managing strategies, implementing risk program requirements, and ensuring closure of action items utilizing risk management tools and methods

    • Participate in and provide subject matter expertise support to various engineering, safety, and risk management working groups, panels, etc. that specialize in the evaluation, management, and mitigation of risks

    • Develop and implement a training program for risk management methods and techniques for both team members and managers that are consistent across Axiom programs

    • Develop and present Risk Management Program Status information via reports and presentations that illustrate program risks, mitigations, and schedules to communicate changes and risk reduction in program risk posture

    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Education & Experience

    • 15+ years conducting risk analysis functions, a minimum of 8 years technical experience interfacing with NASA, aerospace, or equivalent business operations

    • S. in Engineering, Math, or Science required (graduate degree preferred)

    • Experience navigating and working within the NASA safety/risk processes is preferred

    • Technical experience in risk management for human spaceflight. Consideration will be made for relevant experience in other industries

    • Proficient in conducting quantitative and qualitative trends analysis

    • Adept in analyzing and evaluating systems to identify risks and proposing actions to mitigate exposure

    • Skillful in planning and performing risk analyses, and reporting results

    • Experience working with and tracking actions, tasks, mitigations, and program status in the JIRA Project Management System Software tool

    • Detailed understanding and experience in conducting and interpreting Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) activities

    Essential Functions

    • Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

    Requirements

    • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

    • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

    • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

    Physical Requirements

    • May involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).

    • May require lifting and carrying objects up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).

    • Will involve operating standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.)
