    What You'll Get to Do

    Team CACI seeks an experienced SAS Developer with excellent interpersonal skills to support their client at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion. The SAS Developer will collaborate with a diverse team of epidemiologists, public health analysts, data analysts, developers, and testers for the National Healthcare Safety Network to ensure data requirements are met and actualized in testing and production environments. The SAS Developer will recommend and select technical approaches for solving complex development and integration problems.

    The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience of using SAS in a development environment.

    More About the Role

    • Work in tandem with Statisticians, Epidemiologists and Data Management team members to support various public health projects.

    • Perform data quality assurance activities, including identifying and resolving any inconsistencies in data flow, data outside legitimate ranges, and illogical data responses by developing data quality reports and investigation and resolution of data anomalies or errors.

    • Build and maintain SAS datasets.

    • Use technical expertise, initiative, creativity, critical thinking, and strong communication and interpersonal skills daily to solve data quality problems in support of technical development efforts.

    • Actively participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations, information/data flow, incorporate security requirements into design.

    • Collaborate with the program team to identify opportunities for process improvements, making strategic adjustments, and exploit opportunities focused on maximizing programmatic impact.

    • Responsible for ensuring the quality of data by implementing controls and monitoring the work of data analysts.

    • Follow departmental standards and best practices for coding, testing and documentation.

    • Translate technical requirements into programmed application modules and develop/enhance them as necessary.

    • Maintain and enhance the source code and process flow for the client's SAS production environment.

    • Ability to identify, evaluate and help resolve database performance issues.

    You'll Bring These Qualifications

    • Demonstrated experience with:

    • SAS/BASE (Data step programming) and SAS/SQL or other relational database software

    • SAS Unix shell scripting to schedule job using Cron and actively managing the entire job flow at a minimum of 2 years.

    • Extracting, loading, cleansing & manipulating data in a SAS environment.

    • Azure Cloud Platform

    • Data reporting, visualization, and management (Tableau, SQL, PowerBI, etc.).

    • Manipulating and analyzing large datasets.

    • Pyspark or SnowPark and (Databrick or Snowflake)

    • Minimum 5 years of experience SAS programming, including but not limited to SAS/STAT, SAS Macro and Advanced SAS programming functions.

    • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.

    These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

    • Experience in public health or healthcare.

    • SAS Certified Base Programmer. SAS Certified Advanced Programmer, (preferred not required).

    The proposed salary range for this position is

    $74,600-$156,700
