    Role reports to: Manager R&D for Future of Self Care

    Location: Skillman, NJ Kenvue's corporate headquarters is currently located in Skillman NJ, but is scheduled to move to Summit, NJ in or around early 2025.

    Travel %: 10

    What you will do

    The Scientist II R&D Nutritionals supports the Manager R&D Nutritionals in leading new product development for a variety of brands in the Nutritional category, from concept to launch and as needed during product life cycle.

    This individual will

    • Provide technical support and expertise in scale up and manufacturing transfer of several dosage forms including tablets, capsules, gummies, powders, and suspensions.

    • Work with Nutritional Science and commercial partners to create a product development brief that translates the consumer needs into product attributes.

    • Collaborate with external manufacturers and vendors to create category prototype formulas (manage organoleptic properties and aesthetics validation, when applicable) that execute the brief.

    • Work with external manufacturers to technology transfer formulations when applicable, scale up products, and ensure products can be manufactured reliably to ensure business continuity.

    • Establish blend sizes, protocols, and testing requirements for scale-up.

    • Partner closely with all functions responsible for product innovation, including but not limited to Packaging, Analytical, Microbiology, Toxicology, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Operations, and Quality & Compliance to ensure flawless execution of the development plan.

    • Help troubleshoot technical issues as they arise during the development and scale up process.

    • Ensure adequate documentation for product development and launch and ensure compliance with all applicable processes.

    Qualifications

    What we are looking for

    Required Minimum Education

    Bachelor's Degree in scientific or engineering field is required. Food Science, Nutrition Science is preferred. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Pharmacy accepted.

    Required Years of Related Experience

    A minimum of 1-3 years of related experience (academic or industry) is required or a Master's Degree with relevant experience

    • Familiarity with cGMP is required.

    • The ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams and stakeholders is required.

    • MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) proficiency is required.

    • Oral and written communication skills are required.

    • Ability to work in a virtual environment is required

    • Familiarity in formulation and process development for the Dietary Supplement, Food, Ingestibles, or Cosmetic space is preferred.

    • Development and process scale up experience with one or more of the following product formats is preferred: tablets, capsules, gummies, liquids, and/or suspensions.

    • Experience building supplement facts panels is preferred.

    • Familiarity with DSHEA and Cosmetic regulatory requirements is preferred.

    • This position may require up to 10% annual travel (domestic and/or international).
