    Become a Senior Advisor, Employee Engagement and Process Improvement at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you'll lead our employee engagement, lifecycle, and process improvement initiatives. 50% of the focus will be on employee engagement-related programs and the other 50% will be on driving process improvement initiatives.

    Employee engagement efforts include administering the annual all-employee engagement survey, conducting new hire and exit surveys, and developing insights and recommendations to drive our continuous culture of improvement. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate the entire employee engagement survey process, ensuring that surveys are implemented efficiently and with the highest level of data quality and will also be responsible for communicating findings and recommendations to the executive leadership team for post survey action planning.

    Process improvement efforts include finding opportunities for automation, optimization, and innovation to enhance efficiency and drive measurable impact throughout SCE's Human Resources organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover inefficiencies in current processes and implement innovative solutions to drive efficiency and improve workflows.

    A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

    Employee engagement strategy and execution -

    • Develop and execute employee engagement initiatives and strategies for various surveys, such as the annual all-employee engagement survey, pulse survey, new hire survey, and exit survey.

    • Find opportunities to enhance the current suite of employee surveys and make recommendations for modifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement survey plans, timelines, and process improvements.

    • Lead the design and implementation of company-wide employee engagement surveys, lead content creation, technical logistics, meeting facilitation, roadshows, and presentations.

    • Coordinate all aspects of the Organizational Change Management (OCM) plan, drive communications and employee-wide distribution.

    • Provide input on survey design and support internal communications efforts as well as communicating survey results to key partners in a timely manner.

    Post Survey interpretation & Action Planning -

    • Analyze and interpret survey responses to assess employee sentiment based on survey responses, provide insightful recommendations to enhance employee engagement including closely assessing progress, timelines, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure alignment with engagement initiatives' objectives and desired outcomes.

    • Collaborate with executives, vendors, HR professionals, and partners to conduct in-depth analyses of survey results and data including interpret and identify organizational strengths and opportunities for improvement, facilitate informed decision-making and targeted action planning.

    Vendor Management -

    • Comprehensive management of vendor relationships, budgeting, timeline management, contractual obligations, and performance monitoring to ensure smooth operation.

    • Oversee various aspects such as participation agreements, vendor responsiveness, contract renewals, license assignments, and service level management, not only with survey vendors but also with other vendor partners.

    Process Improvement -

    • Partner with HR stakeholders in assessing and analyzing current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas needing improvement.

    • Focus on root cause techniques to uncover bottlenecks, redundancies, and prevalent challenges.

    • Assist and guide in meticulous documentation and visually representing existing workflows, standards, and procedures while consistently updating documentation to reflect enhancements.

    • Effective communication and collaboration are crucial. Assist in the development of improvement plans with partners and ensuring they understand them through training sessions.

    • Address identified challenges involves problem-solving and innovation, where innovative solutions are implemented and assessed for efficacy. Meanwhile, change management strategies are pivotal, encompassing plans to navigate through resistance and adapt processes to meet output expectations.

    • Performance measurement and analysis through established KPIs, inform strategic decision-making and facilitate adjustments to ensure continual progress. This process operates within a culture of continuous improvement, fostering an environment where feedback is encouraged, and processes are regularly reviewed and updated to uphold efficiency standards. Quality assurance and compliance measures are rigorously maintained through implementation and audits, while responsibilities in project planning and management ensure initiatives are coordinated, monitored, and reported for transparency and accountability.

    The essentials

    • Ten or more years of experience driving process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other relevant frameworks.

    • Experience leading and implementing large-scale survey or assessment projects.

    The preferred

    • Advanced degree (Master's or Doctorate) in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Industrial Relations, Engineering, Operations Management or related fields.

    • Strong leadership skills, including influencing and motivating others towards achieving common goals.

    • Certifications in project management (e.g. PMP) or Lean Six Sigma (e.g. Yellow, Green, Black or Master Black belt).

    • Experience with HR Processes and working in various industries, such as utilities, manufacturing, or technology.

    • Analytical approach with the ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights that drive strategic decisions and action plans.

    • Proficiency in relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office suite, process mapping software, statistical analysis tools, etc.

    • Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.

    • Advanced problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and solution implementation.

    • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills.

    • Experience working with/presenting to all levels of leadership including senior executives and working with third party vendors.

    You should know..

    • This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
