Kelly is seeking a Senior Buyer to work with our client, a large and global industrial gas company, on a long-term temporary basis with potential to get hired on! This is an excellent opportunity to step foot into an organization that has experienced over 120 years of success.

The Senior Buyer handles the following responsibilities

• Negotiation and Management of Spend ($20 -$30 Million/yr)

• Analyze internal demand requirements and external market conditions to identify areas of opportunity and improvement for assigned categories

• Issue RFX, perform bid comparison and vendor evaluation, lead award decisions, negotiate contract terms , coordinate with Legal, and ensure on-going contract compliance

• Lead sourcing efforts with Internal Customers and External Vendors

• Coordinate with global buyers where appropriate and ensure North America compliance with global contracts

• Reporting and Compliance

• Track progress with regard to compliance with preferred, use of appropriate process and controls, and savings

• Report savings and compliance metrics monthly

• Draft and maintain category plans

• Process Improvement

• Continually access and improve sourcing and commodity management processes.

• Drive regional efficiency improvements through automation and process simplification

• Serve as the procurement department's lead to ensure compliance to processes and procedural requirements

• Continually access and improve suppliers' performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of recent procurement contract negotiation experience (has to be on resume for hiring manager to consider)

• Large contract experience preferred (see spend mentioned above)

• Construction contract experience a plus

• Experience procuring complex pieces of equipment (as opposed to bulk raw materials)

• Must have relevant industry experience (industrial gas, chemical manufacturing, oil & gas)

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency

• Able to work across all functions and levels of an organization

• Demonstrated ability to lead change and maintain high standards

• Solid interpersonal skills

• Effective facilitator and motivator

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Persistent driver of execution

• Solid project management experience

• Sound problem solving and organizational competencies

• Strategic thinker with strong business acumen
