Senior Plant Accountant

Description

Thriving, manufacturer is looking to add a Senior Plant Accountant with a proven inventory experience to their finance department. As the Senior Plant Accountant, you will monitor reconciliation of inventory, develop and implement revenue generating process improvement opportunities, calculate monthly journal entries, oversee standard cost accounting activities, perform cost analysis, assist with the completion of budgets, forecasts and other financials, monitor fixed assets/update fixed asset module, complete monthly account reconciliations and assist with the month end close process. This candidate will succeed by strategically planning and directing accounting operations while developing operating procedures that are consistent with internal policies and procedures that are in compliance with GAAP.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly/annual budgeting & forecasting

• Create internal control guidelines

• Generate monthly financial forecasts

• Provide cost accounting analysis

• Oversee inventory for raw materials and finished goods

• Perform risk analysis

• Establish compliance with all GAAP requirements

• Prepare and present financial reports

• Assist management as needed

• Recommend process improvements

Requirements

The ideal Senior Plant Accountant will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.

Other requirements for the Senior Plant Accountant role include and are not limited to

• 4+ years accounting experience in a manufacturing/plant environment

• Inventory experience required

• Experience with SAGE a big plus
