  • Overview

    Assists project developers to design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain/repair educational equipment/technology for all levels of training. Assists with PC support, network support & design, infrastructure design, instructional technology support & design, informatics, and simulator support & integration. Works to ensure that all aspects of the operation, maintenance, support and trouble-shooting of associated equipment will run efficiently on a daily basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Assists the Manager of PSTC to coordinate and manage operational efforts related to area of expertise.

    • Participates in review and evaluation of PSTC programs and performance goals.

    • Acts as contact for specified vendors. Assesses the effectiveness of new equipment/technology, participates in the purchase of new equipment and warrantees, manages PSTC technology inventory, maintains repair logs, and assists in keeping work space.

    • Displays technical proficiency with the operation, maintenance, support, and trouble-shooting of all equipment in collaboration with the appropriate support services, including, but not limited to, computer-driven human simulator systems, life-support systems, physiologic monitors, PSTC laptops & computers, etc.

    • Trains technicians, assistants and standardized patients to effectively use technology to implement simulated events and scenarios.

    • Collects and documents value-related data and produces organized reports.

    • Works with faculty, learners and PSTC staff to organize logistics of projects to best meet the objectives of PSTC clients and the educational objectives of the learners.

    • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Associates degree with 5 years of relevant experience or the equivalent required.

    • Experience in maintenance/repair of simulation mannequins and other healthcare simulation equipment a plus.

    • Familiarity with personal computers is essential, particularly windows-based environments, electronic mail, and spreadsheets.

    • Aptitude/familiarity with audio/visual equipment is desirable.

    • Must be able to work autonomously with very little supervision.
