    Overview

    Axient is currently seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our customer in the Space Sensor Testing area Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. This position will support design and development of new ground test capabilities. The SME will also support system evaluation and integration, data analysis of facility data and reporting, and transfer of relevant knowledge to assist with training of core and junior team members.

    Responsibilities

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to support development of new test capabilities to support future space assets testing.

    • Support developing facility requirements based on sensor properties and testing methodologies

    • Support evaluation of scene projection systems during facility checkouts.

    • Support evaluation of source-package optical blur and radiometric throughput.

    • Support optical-design activities in conjunction with support contractors and AEDC team members.

    • Support identification of final scene-projection concepts and testing methodologies.

    • Support design, development, and opto-mechanical integration of new facility systems.

    • Assist with evaluating, cleaning, and modifications/upgrades to chamber optics.

    • Support design and development of the PC-SGS for closed-loop mission simulation.

    • Support analysis of facility data collected during facility checkouts.

    • Share and transfer relevant knowledge to and assist with training of core and junior team members.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills

    • Must have an active and transferrable DoD security clearance with current investigation at the required level. Must be able to maintain the required clearance.

    • BS in Physics or appropriate discipline.

    • Must demonstrate high-level working knowledge of AEDC test systems.

    • A willingness to tackle new challenges and assignments as they arise.

    • Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, customers, and management.

    Desired Skills

    • Design and implementation of cryogenic optical elements.

    • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with AEDC staff and customers.
