Robert Half is assisting a healthcare company with a long-term contract / temporary opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant who enjoys taking on new challenges and thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for account analysis and reconciliations, financial statement preparation and consolidation, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. This Senior Accountant opening is located in the Irvine, California area. Your responsibilities in this role

• Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

• Other projects as required

• Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• An endless desire to improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests

• Manage monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP

• Analyze financial results (benchmarks, trends, performance metrics)

• Work with internal and external auditors to coordinate quarterly reviews and testing

Requirements - Proven ability to work and communication well with manager-level associates

• Microsoft Excel experience preferred

• Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience highly desired

• Proficiency in month end closings

• Fixed assets experience desired

• Command of general ledger

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

• Self-starter and strong ethical standards

• Minimum 5-7 years of overall general accounting experience

• Previous experience in financial reporting

• Experience with ERP systems

• Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

• Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

• Skill with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

• Outstanding skills in analyzing financial data and promptly generating accurate reports

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
