Sr. Accountant

Description Robert Half's Senior Accountant role is perfect for candidates looking for a gig in the accounting field in the Roselle, Illinois area. Your responsibilities in this role

• Ad-hoc projects as required

• Build analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

• Put together monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Organize quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Compose Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Constantly improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Function with business partners to ensure compliance with procedures and controls, corporate accounting policies, and provide support on special requests

• Administer monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are highly desired

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• Proficiency in Job Cost

• Experience with account reconciliation

• Financial reporting experience

• Construction Accounting experience preferred

• Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

• Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

• Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

• Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills

• 7+ years of overall general accounting experience

• Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

• Efficient in ERP systems

• Demonstrated skills in interacting effectively, both verbally and in writing, with functional managers

• Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
