  • Overview

    SR. APPLICATIONDEVELOPER (NHTSA):

    Bowhead is seeking for aSr. ApplicationDeveloper to support the Department of Transportation (DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) contract located in the D.C. metropolitan area. TheSr. ApplicationDeveloper shall support the daily activity of adding and updating documents, presentations and web pages following and developing procedures, adhering to government policy, and assisting NHTSA interdepartmental efforts toward maintaining the NHTSA website(s).?TheSr. ApplicationDeveloper will?develop web-based applications and integrate applications into existing database systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Demonstrate working knowledge and experience coding in .NET applications.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable: Active Server Pages (ASP), Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Access, HTML, DBMS's (ex. Oracle, SQL Server.). Provides support in the testing of developed applications.

    • Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in MVC framework; Visual Studio; Entity Framework; Bootstrap; jQuery; and current application development experience developing as a front-end developer.

    • Provide, develop, and supports desktop, SharePoint, and web-based applications and integrate applications into existing database systems.?

    • Demonstrate knowledge and experience coding in .NET applications.?

    • Provides support in the testing and troubleshooting of developed applications.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in related field PLUS five to eight (5-8+) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

    • Complete understanding of the full development life cycle.

    • Knowledge of several of the following areas is desirable: SharePoint, Python, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Access, HTML, DBMS's (ex. Oracle, SQL Server), SAS Business Intelligence, and AWS S3.?MVS framework, Visual Studio, Entity Framework, Bootstrap, jQuery.

    • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint in addition to the visualization software listed above is required.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team as well as having a high level of initiative and excellent attention to detail.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

    • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for a Public Trust clearance at this location.
