Responsibilities

• Utilize tools such as Splunk and Palo Alto Firewall for security monitoring and incident response.

• Investigate and manage Security Incident Handling procedures.

• Conduct vulnerability threat assessments and manage security tools to ensure system security.

• Contribute to the development and improvement of Security Operation procedures and documentation.

• Use Python/PowerShell scripting to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.

• Implement Checkpoint and Firewall Technologies for network security.

• Use Configuration Management skills to maintain and enhance system security.

• Utilize knowledge of Computer Hardware to ensure secure system operations.

• Collaborate with the team to design and implement effective security policies and procedures.

• Leverage expertise in Endpoint Protection and Endpoint Security to protect network access.

Why Open: Role opened up in LA office. All escalations are being sent to the manager and he has enough of a workload as it stands. This is to fill their L3 vacancy for US Security Operations Center (they also have a Global Security Operations Center)

80% - SOC: Escalations, L3 requests, Investigations, Troubleshooting, Incident Management, Forensics, Log Analysis, etc.

20% - Projects: dig up logs in Splunk, write SOPs (have strong knowledgebase to go off of), other fun initiatives, etc.

Experience: 3-4+ Years of direct Security Operations (SOC) experience

Soft Skills: Must have a good attitude and be motivated to do their best and serve as a good leader. Need to have security intuition to think on-the-spot to solve issues and find the right solutions. Need to be able to ask the right questions, have good integrity
