  • Eaton's IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer. This position is based at our EV automotive manufacturing facility in Carol Stream, IL and offers relocation assistance.

    The expected annual salary range for this role is $77249.97 - $113299.96 a year.

    What you'll do:

    The Sr Supplier Quality Engineer will be primarily responsible for supporting the Supplier Quality Engineering activities, related with supplier concerns, and supporting the inspection activities in the plant and externally with suppliers. This includes outgoing inspection, the segregation, identification, re-work, and the proper disposition of unacceptable or non-conforming parts and materials.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Apply engineering and manufacturing technical knowledge to help improve supplier activities that can help Eaton's quality, delivery and cost performance objectives.

    • Initialize supplier concern tracking matrix and responsible for all supplier key metric maintenance and reporting.

    • Support investigation and elimination causes of quality concerns and follow up on corrective actions.

    • Provide internal communications pertaining to all supplier rejections.

    • Manage, dispute & generate all supplier Returned Merchandise Authorizations.

    • Oversees and participates in the development and initiation of inspection, testing and evaluation techniques for incoming goods.

    • Works with Production, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain and other departments to define quality standards and procedures as it relates to supplier quality.

    • Reviews and analyzes inspection test results and oversees the disposition of nonconformance items with - affected suppliers and companies.

    • Analyzes supplier performance in-house and supplier premises as required.

    • Team with suppliers to define and document Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, AIAG Process Control Plans and Inspection plans.

    • Negotiates with suppliers to find equitable solutions to problems identified.

    • Controlling nonconforming material in accordance with Eaton procedures.

    Qualifications:

    Required (Basic) Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

    • One (1+) or more years of work experience within an automotive manufacturing industry in a Quality Engineering related role or similar

    • Working knowledge of IATF / AIAG requirements related to product approval process

    • Working knowledge of GD&T

    • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience and application of Automotive industry Core Tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC) preferred.

    • Experience with root cause analysis, SPC knowledge, technically able to utilize measuring equipment and gauges.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Email) Minitab & Adobe Acrobat and various software systems for logging and tracking results.

    • In depth experience in an EMS environment including materials and manufacturing processes

    • Strong understanding of statistical process control and how to use data to drive decisions.

    • Advanced knowledge of OEM quality standards, systems, and processes.
