Staff Accountant

Description

Our client in Atlanta is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records by recording transactions, posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary journal entries, reconciling accounts, and conducting financial analyses.

• Prepares tax returns for Personal Property and Sales & Use Tax.

• Assists in managing fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and transfers.

• Conducts reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, such as cash and accounts receivable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in accounting role.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
