Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant opportunity located in Greater Waterbury area (Hybrid)!

Full-time/permanent position

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, budgeting & forecasting, account analysis, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. This opportunity provides a diverse mix of accounting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting for a candidate looking to continue to grow in their career.

Main responsibilities

• Perform the month end close and produce journal entries.

• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries.

• Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting process.

• Responsible for accounts payable including processing checks, invoices, chest request wires, and credit card charges.

• Process customer payments.

• Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation.

• Assist in compiling sales and use tax returns.

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP.

• Assist with year-end audit.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or related

• 1-3+ years of related accounting experience

• Manufacturing experience is preferred but not required!
