  • Job Description

    An employer is seeking a Structural Engineer to sit in the South Charlotte area. The principal duties of the successful candidate shall include review of contract documents (such as structural drawings, architectural drawings, and project specifications) and subsequent design of tubular steel and standard shape transmission, distribution, and substation structures. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to collaborate with and provide technical support to detailers, production control, and production teammates. They must be able to communicate effectively and coordinate projects with internal and external customers, including other design professionals. Additional duties shall include occasional travel to utility offices, field locations and attendance at trade shows. Primary design tool used is PLS-Pole with secondary design being performed by Microsoft Excel.

    Skills and Requirements

    -Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineer OR A Bachelor's degree in a related field with proven work experience as a Structural Engineer

    -Has or willing to obtain prior to employment - Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification

    -Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

    -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs. -Experience with PLS-Pole software

    -Professional Engineer licensure

    -Experience as a Transmission Engineer null
