  • Description: The Chimera program has a full-time Systems Engineering position, located within the United Kingdom, supporting Operations & Maintenance for a variety of mission systems. This multifaceted role provides engineering expertise to all the Chimera systems across multiple geographically dispersed program nodes and is responsible for the design, development, integration and sustainment of complex electronic data processing and communications systems for the United States Government.

    The selected candidate will work as part of a multi-contractor system engineering and integration team at the customer site. Working at the customer facility requires exceptional communication and the ability to work a variety of efforts in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. The position requires an effective and accurate exchange of information across a multi-location enterprise, with customer visibility into the team's actions and responses. You will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary, multi-contractor team and demonstrate initiative as well as exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

    The candidate will be responsible for performing specific technical tasks related to the subject area of systems engineering and integration, including but not limited to:

    - Participate in and support to engineering review boards, requirements definition and review, schedule updates, Concept of Operations design and review and hands-on integration.

    - Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and efficiency analyses for total systems-analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

    - Lead trade studies to make changes to the system baseline architecture, working with all stakeholders to quickly develop solutions to multidisciplinary problems.

    - Identify, develop, and implement processes or system improvements which deliver efficiency, drive cost savings, or reduce operational risk.

    - Participate and manage the system anomaly resolution process for the Chimera program and report observations and recommendations to senior LM management and Customers.

    Basic Qualifications:

    - Experience working in a real-time, operational environment responsible for monitoring and configuring assets for complex electronic data processing and communications systems.

    - Strong organizational and project management skills.

    - The ability to perform in a small team environment is essential.

    - Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a geographically distributed organization.

    - Self-starter, motivated and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

    - Active TS/SCI clearance with adjudicated polygraph within the past three (3) years or currently supporting at OCONUS (United Kingdom) site already.

    - Willingness to relocate to customer OCONUS site location.

    Desired Skills:

    - Experience with the various aspects of the Systems Engineer role to include technical planning, system integration, technical documentation development and review, requirements verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and efficiency analyses.

    - Leading and managing projects across the entire system lifecycle - include concept phase, into the design, through implementation, during sustainment and decommissioning - handling all aspects to include cost, schedule, and risk.

    - Participating and/or leading proposal efforts such as Engineering Estimates (EE), Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROMs), Engineering Change Request (ECPs) and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).

    - Experience leading and managing Risk and Opportunity Management Boards (ROMBs).

    - Familiarity with RAFMH site Systems Engineering processes and organizations.

    - Familiarity with the systems supported on the Chimera contract.

    - Familiarity with Customer Cyber Security requirement and processes.

    - Skilled in another Chimera related role to include, but not limited to, System Administration, Network Administration and Cyber Security.

    Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

    Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

    Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
