    POSITION SUMMARY

    The VP of IT will serve as a key member of the executive team providing advice on a wide range of strategic, tactical, and operational issues. S/he will be responsible for establishing and executing an IT strategy for the Tecomet organization.

    The role will report to the Chief Financial Officer will manage an organization of approximately 25 staff. S/he will be responsible for the overall vision, strategic direction, and tactical delivery of all information technology systems and solutions to support the organization. The VP of IT will be responsible for creating a strong partnership with the business by identifying changes and trends in technology and providing cogent interpretation to senior leadership. In short, the VP of IT will provide thought leadership, influence, and hands-on engagement to direct, develop, and implement a long-term strategic IT plan.

    Technology is the key enabling strategy for Tecomet. The VP of IT will build upon a sound IT function and support the technology enabled business transformation of the company. S/he will be involved in the transformation towards a high-performance operating model that leverages common platforms, procedures, and best-in-class processes to support the company. The VP of IT will also be responsible for partnering with peer business leaders to oversee the delivery of services with partners and contractors. A key aspect of this position will be augmenting and developing the talent caliber of the IT organization through training, mentorship, and actively rewarding and recognizing individual staff.

    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Establishes a clearly articulated technology strategy closely tied to the business strategy in Tecomet.

    • Communicates the technology strategy across the organization and the board in a clear, concise, non-jargon, and thoughtful way to inspire and confidence and build support for and achieve results.

    • Partners with leadership team to ensure that technology is aligned with business objectives including the design and deployment of a data and analytics strategy that drives the company to be more data and insight driven.

    • Develops and owns the technology roadmap for the business, ensuring technology becomes a clear, integral part of the business strategy and planning process. Sets agreed upon standards for funding and execution across the organization.

    • Engages management, team, and customers to understand business needs and recommends innovative and differentiating IT solutions for the problems and opportunities facing Tecomet and its customers and the platforms and services supporting the organization.

    • Improves the business value of IT by streamlining systems and keeping efficiency levels high.

    • Delivers transformative technology platforms and efficient IT services.

    • Establishes governance and control structures for managing the initiatives and direct alignment to business outcomes.

    • Drives a common vision of key IT strategies to implement solutions in a cost-effective way from a mix of internally developed, offshore and vendor platforms in a complex ecosystem.

    • Demonstrates understanding of the nature, type and costs of all IT spend lines across the organization; stratifies and aligns investment to minimize duplication, maximize shared components, services, assets, and human capital.

    • Promotes teamwork and collaborates with colleagues on management team to leverage the advantages offered by the broader organization. Strengthens internal and external business relationships - driving confidence while moving things forward.

    • Responsible for creating a high-performing team with dedicated and shared expertise where duplication can be eliminated, innovation and technological capabilities are fostered and shared.

    • Adapts to changing priorities.

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED

    • At least 10 years progressive experience leading the technology arm of a distribution-oriented enterprise.

    • Bachelor's degree required, master's degree in technology related field preferred.

    • Experience developing and executing technology architecture in a dynamic, evolving company.

    • Experience developing strategies for application integration.

    • Experience developing and implementing innovations in service delivery or management.

    • Management of outsourced solutions and resources

    • Experience transforming IT organizations into high performing digitally focused cultures.

    • Direct management over a major IT operation, including application integration and development.
