    Scope and responsibilities

    Driving growth in the core business as well as new markets is central to Honeywell's strategy. The Vice President, Strategy, Aerospace, will lead a team of 25+ strategy professionals on corporate and select business unit initiatives, including growth opportunities, strategic sales and marketing programs, acquisition targeting activities, and portfolio assessment initiatives.

    The VP Strategy will have frequent interactions with executive management, including the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, as well as strategic business unit Presidents and functional leaders. S/he will work across functions such as finance and legal and will be expected to access and hone the strategic plans and actions of Honeywell. To strengthen the Aerospace business portfolio, the successful candidate will participate in identifying potential business development opportunities as well as supporting Honeywell Operating Systems with respective business unit counterparts.

    This role will focus on analytics, insights, strategy and business development, and aligning Honeywell Aerospace strategies with investment and operational plans. The Strategy team will drive and create competitive gaps through deeper consumer understanding, demand analysis and portfolio strategy. S/he will identify growth and competitive advantage opportunities by identifying technology trends, portfolio integration and expansion opportunities, business model evolution as well as channels, strategic partnerships, consumer experience value chain and/or related strategic marketing levers.

    This role will include the following specific responsibilities in approximately the following proportions

    Lead Annual Strategic Planning Process (40%)

    • Constructively challenge the organization to refine its "where to play" and "how to win" choices to drive growth, improve profitability and sustain competitive advantage.

    • Support execution of strategic goals through Honeywell's management operating systems.

    • Experience developing strategic growth and business development plans with a fact-based approach to competitive analysis, customer segmentation, market attractiveness and product positioning, financial analysis, external and execution risks, potential impact and scenario planning, resource requirements, and regional and global pricing guidelines.

    Develop and deliver on annual plans to go after BTI- Break Through Initiatives (40%)

    • Drive the process of identifying and developing breakthrough strategies that significantly expand Honeywell's addressable market.

    • Strategy of Alliances and Partnerships.

    • Define strategic positioning and options such as new opportunities, portfolio adjustments, technologies, and solutions that are consistent with business objectives.

    Support Honeywell's GM leaders in identifying and executing on key growth and margin expansion opportunities (10%)

    Market forecasting

    M&A /Partnerships (10%)

    • Partner with the Corporate Development team and business unit teams to identify and cultivate potential M&A candidates. Provide assessment and thought leadership on the strategic rationale, synergy potential and key risks to enable the executive team to make well-informed inorganic investment decisions.

    Qualified candidates will have a strong ability to lead by influence, possess excellent business acumen, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and leadership to further advance to a significant functional and/or business leadership position. This executive level role will have significant visibility and career progression potential.

    You Must Have

    • A minimum of 10 years of combined experience in a corporate operations role within a technology or industrial company and experience working for a top-tier strategic management consulting firm.

    • Experience leading strategic planning, growth initiatives and/or operational enhancement engagements with major clients in diverse technology, innovation and/or manufacturing driven industries.

    • Must be able to deliver a consolidated view of the market environment and competitive structure with recommended actions to drive Honeywell business growth.
