    General Summary

    Performs a variety of administrative duties to support Workers' Compensation case management and program management. Provides administrative support for workers' compensation RN care manager and program manager including high level data collection, report review and ensures expedited information sharing, problem resolution and related record keeping for the purpose of meeting Employee Health and Safety customer needs. Assesses the effectiveness of occupational action plans for injured/ill System employees. Provides internal workers' compensation telephonic case management and medical record review. Tracks trends and issues regarding work-related injuries with particular emphasis on patient handling injuries. Supports the Safety Resource Coordinator Team with routine Safe Patient Handling training. Supports and assists with coordination of annual respiratory fit-testing programs to meet Employee Health and Safety policies and OSHA requirements.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Essential Functions

    • Communicates with injured employees and supervisors about work related injuries. Provides telephonic care management of work-related injury/illness. Liaison with supervisors, third party administrator and related parties concerning workers' compensation claims and workers' compensation program operation. Participates in workers compensation program decision making.

    • Manages accident and injury reporting.

    • Keeps accurate medical records on workers compensation cases. Reviews medical records as needed related workers' compensation cases.

    • Maintains accurate and timely data entry into the Employee Health and Safety electronic record and TPA system.

    • Triage urgent issues from managers and staff; elevates necessary concerns to the Program Manager.

    • Assists with the coordination of the Alternative Duty program.

    • Provides statistical input to the development and implementation of injury prevention programs with a particular focus on Safe Patient Handling Program. Communicates with Employee Safety Specialists with injury patterns and accident investigation recommendations.

    • Instructs on proper use of patient lift equipment and handling pr procedures.

    • Coordinates and provides Safe Patient Handling (SPH) training for all new staff.

    • Develops and monitors performance improvement measures related to SPH; prepares reports on information as needed.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Education

    • High School Diploma or GED Required

    Work Experience

    • 2 years case management experience Preferred

    Licenses

    • Licensed Practical Nurse Upon Hire Required or

    • Licensed Practical Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Required

    Courses and Training

    • Completion of a state-approved LPN or LVN program Upon Hire Required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Functional understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office software

    • Excellent communication and writing abilities, effective at presentations to small and large groups

    • PA workers' compensation experience highly preferred
