2023 Summer Internship Program

The Ace Internship program allows you to apply skills and knowledge you're learning in College today, while contributing in a hands-on environment to fit your career objectives, complement your academic work, and enhance your learning. Your Responsibilities

We are looking for an energetic, self-starter to assist the Ace Foundation. You will be responsible for assisting in the planning of two of the Foundation's major fundraising events as well as other smaller projects. The ability to prioritize and organize is a must as you will be focused on the details of these events.

The intern in the Foundation (Community Relations) department will be involved with the following:

• Assist with large event planning

• Coordinate and assist with event details (registrations, payments, etc.)

• Solicit fundraising dollars working with internal corporate departments

• Work with other internal departments to coordinate event details

• Draft and edit articles after events

• Discover new, more efficient ways to streamline event planning

• Provide detailed communication to event attendees

The ideal intern will possess the following:

• Working towards a bachelor's degree in one of the following area(s) Marketing, Communications, Hospitality or any other related field.

• Entering Senior year of college

• Involvement in philanthropic activities

• Adaptability and ability to learn quickly in high-pressure environments

• Ability to lift, bend, and/or carry items over 10 pounds.

• Local travel (ability to attend events, required a couple times throughout the internship)

• Excellent oral and written communication and attention to detail skills.

• Ambitious self-starter who has demonstrated the ability to contribute as an effective team member

• Excellent time management and organizational skills

• Demonstrated motivation and initiative to succeed

• Self-leadership and drive to accomplish tasks at best of their ability.

• Knowledge and interest in Ace Hardware Corporation

• Ability to work 40 hours per week, Monday -Friday for 12 weeks

• Willingness and ability to give presentations to colleagues, managers and directors
