    Commodity Manager

    Job Description:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Follows market price trends and general business activities. Evaluates market conditions, labor, and resources that support global sourcing strategies.

    • Monitors and assesses supplier performance and advises management of questionable circumstances.

    • Builds knowledge of the enterprise, processes, suppliers, and customers.

    • Researches potential suppliers and compares their products, prices, and services.

    • Manages relationships with the supply base, Supplier Quality, Engineering, Program Management, and Operations.

    • Learns and applies procurement, business, or product knowledge or experience such that the appropriate information is available in order to meet the objectives of the assigned project or initiative.

    • Participates in problem solving efforts as it relates to any assigned commodity category or supplier.

    • Assures data integrity within the procurement master data system.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

    • Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate orally and in written format in cross-functional environments, including management level.

    • Understanding of supply chain principles.

    • Exposure to manufacturing and assembly processes.

    • Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications.

    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with others in group setting.

    • Ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of problems or opportunities.

    • Demonstrates problem solving skills.

    • Collaborates in a variety of work settings.

    • Exhibits creativity.

    • Ability to organize, plan, document, and prioritize work.

    • Preferred Certifications:

    • APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

    • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

    • Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD)

    • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

    • Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD)

    Experience

    • 0-2 or more years of experience in the field or in a related area.

    Scope

    • Manages assignments and workload with a reasonable level of autonomy; daily tasks are typically self-directed and associated priorities are generally self-determined.

    • Performs a variety of complex tasks, with a reasonable scope of work and span of control expected of an entry-level position.

    Travel Requirements

    • Up to 25%
